Hello from the Netherlands ! (Orange team)
Hello UK airstreamers !
We are new to this forum, but not new to Airstream; 5 years ago we bought our first Airstream a 1971 Overlander in a very good condition, only needed a good scrub and a polishjob...
Our pre-owner experience was made by visiting Perry and Coline for a summer holiday in one of their Airstreams, and we decided we had to have one for sure !
After that time, we went back 2 times because it is a terriffic place to spent your holidays, they are wonderfull people and good entertainers, and Perry knows a lot about Airstream-repairs (he is
doctor Airstream !)
Each year we drive a lot of miles as we take her out nearly every weekend, that's what they are made for !
This january we received our second Airstream, as we are infected with Aluminum fever in a severe form....
It's a 1963 safari in a restorable condition... this is what we are spending our weekends with until it's finished.....
A lot of spare parts are on their way to us, to restore the original condition.
Our tow-vehicle is a 1977 Ford F250 supercab.
At Perry's we met our beloved friends from the UK (Bempton) and we keep visiting them each year with Christmas ever since !
This summer our friend (Stu) turns 50 years, and he invited us to come over and celebrate his birthday with his friends and family.
So the ferry is allready booked ! we are coming over from 1st of august and leave on august the 14th.
Starting from 9th of august, they suggested to visit the Yorkshire Dales together with our other Dutch friends and their 31 foot Excella.
Our friends (Jane and Stu) own a safari from around the seventies.
We want to keep it a surprise that perhaps more of you UK airstreamers will be there....
Looking very much forward to meet with you all !
See you this summer,
Regards,
Kai and Pieter van Dooren
Will post some pictures with this thread.
